Warmblood

A descriptive word for many middle-weight sport horse types and breeds, most originally developed in Europe by the crossbreeding of draft or heavy harness horses on light horse breeds such as Thoroughbreds or Arabians. “Warm” refers to its origin as a cross of a cold-blood (q.v.), and a “hot-blood” – it does not relate to body temperature.
